Coeur d'Alene Tribe asks Fox News to apologize for segment

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho is asking Fox News to apologize for a segment in which reporter John Stossel questioned the existence of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
In a letter, Chairman Chief Allan said Stossel's comments on March 24 were "misinformed and irresponsible." He said Stossel "insulted an entire population of Native Americans and highlighted his level of disrespect and misunderstanding towards Indians."
"Stossel intentionally misleads viewers to believe that the 'help' tribes receive is some gratuitous benefit provide to one minority over another," Allan wrote. "However, it is, in fact, a requirement under terms of treaties and executive orders."
Allan asked Fox News President Roger Ailes and Stossel to apologize for the segment.
